Collections, Pets & Ranged Enemies | v0.0.3 Pre-Alpha Update
Hello, I'm happy to say it's update day for Bone Quest!
This week's update contains a new system to play with, collections. This system, as seen below, allows you to find items hidden throughout the world which when collected, unlock rare items such as pets or armour. As well as this, this week's update added some much needed changes to enemy AI - rather than being placed into the world, they now spawn in dynamically.
Here's what else I've added to this most recent build:
Bone Quest Pre-Alpha Changes - v0.0.3
- Collectables system added, can be accessed via the collections button in the inventory.
- All Seeing Eye collection added to the collectables system, which once completed, adds an All Seeing Eye pet to your inventory.
- Twitching Eye, Watching Eye and All Seeing Eye items added.
- Windal's Tome collection added to the collectables system, this cannot be finished currently though as the items needed are not currently in game.
- Ranged enemy, Sea Goblin, added to the game. The Sea Goblin will shoot projectiles at the player and periodically spawn water spouts near the player which cause damage when walked over.
- Enemies spawn and despawn into the world when the player is a certain distance to them.
- Esc key now clears all windows on the screen before pausing the game.
- Pet button renamed to relics.
- Added a currency window which can be displayed by pressing the currencies button in the inventory.
- Added the Soul Shard currency and item, drops from Shregroth.
- Rune of the Spider item added, drops from Shregroth.
- Extended the playable area of the map to include a spider infested apple orchard.
- Build number updated to v0.0.3 on the main menu screen.
What's next?
Along with the usual ongoing bug fixes, next I plan on expanding the currency system, so you can spend soul shards at a special vendor, as well as getting started on the ground work for the quest system, so exciting times ahead.
