The Demo Is Finally Here! Happy Halloween! | v0.0.1 Pre-Alpha Release
Hello everyone and Happy Halloween! Sorry for the radio silence, I've been working hard these last few weeks to finally get Bone Quest in a place we're I'd feel happy to release the initial demo and as you've probably guessed by the name of this devlog, the day is finally here - I'm over the moon to say you can now download the Bone Quest demo to try it for yourself!
So what does this demo entail you might ask, well here are the juicy details:
Bone Quest Pre-Alpha v0.0.1
- Play as the Reaper class up to level 5, including the first initial 4 abilities in traditional MMO-style tab target combat.
- Explore the town of Heathport and two of the surrounding farms. Please note, as this is the first demo build, invisible walls are in place to prevent exploration outside of this initial area.
- Interact, buy and sell at two merchants and store your goods with the treasure slime.
- Craft four basic items - Bone Dust, Metal Scraps, Small Health Potion, Small Mana Potion and Jagged Shard - The latter three items are learnt via recipes from the recipe merchant.
- Equip enhancements and cosmetic items purchased from the merchant or dropped from enemies.
- Kill 5 different enemies ranging from levels 1 to 5, each utilising different attack abilities and dropping a variety of loot.
Known Bugs
- The Settings Menu, Quest Book, Currencies Tab, Reputation Tab and Collectables Tab currently do not work as these have not been implemented yet.
- Saving and loading from save is not yet implemented so each time you launch the game it will play from the start.
- The name text for some items may appear slightly over it's blue background box.
The aim of this first demo is to collect feedback on the above systems and highlight any bugs with these that need fixing, so if you encounter any when testing the game, please comment on the Bone Quest itch page with the what the bug is in as much detail as possible so I can fix it. Please also remember this is the first demo of the project and is hopefully not representative of what the finished product will be, there will be bugs and there are still a lot more features to be added. Speaking of which, I'll be updating the game regularly with fixes and these new features, so make sure to check the page regularly for the newest version.
