Week 9: Even the undead need a place to unwind

Hello and welcome to this week's devlog. While I've made good progress on things, it'll be a short one this week since a lot of the coding work has been behind the scenes on the inventory system so there isn't a lot to show visually. I am pleased to say that you can now drag and drop items around into different slots in your inventory though. This has been something I've been meaning to get added for a while now so I'm happy it's in as it makes the inventory feel more responsive. As well as this, item tooltips now display dynamically when hovering over the items in your inventory - I'll probably show this off once I get around to the gearing system though, so stay tuned for that!

Outside of this, I've been tinkering with the lighting again and expanding out the ruined town you start the game in with a tavern, as even the undead need a place to unwind after a long night of battle. I plan on having different vendors that will visit the tavern periodically to sell their wears, so this will be a place to check back to often to see what exotic items you can buy. I still need to add some more clutter to the town though and eventually NPCs, which I can't wait to add as it will make the game world feel so much more alive!

Well that's it for this week. Next week I'm hoping to get more of the behind the scenes work done on the inventory system, slowly working towards getting vendors and equipment implemented ready for the demo release. Thanks for reading!
